Does SyVox require that users 'train' the system to understand them?

No. Unlike our competitors who use speaker dependent technology, SyVox uses speaker independent technology. That means that our technology actually analyzes the sound building blocks of what is spoken and converts them into words. This approach eliminates the need to teach the system how each user speaks a word to obtain reliable speech/voice recognition.

Will the SyVox Client work reliably in noisy environment?

Yes. The SyVox Client is built to work in noisy environments. Sophisticated noise filtering and gain control software embedded in the client allow the client to capture speech and ignore the environment around them. SyVox Clients are currently in use in environments were the ambient noise regularly exceeds 85 dB.

Will the SyVox Client pick up words spoken by someone working next to me?

No. The microphone technology used with the SyVox Client is directional and designed to exclusively capture speech from the person wearing the headset. When properly worn, workers can reliably work near one another without interfering with the speech operation of the worker next to them. If the workers intend to engage in a conversation, it is recommended that the microphone be disabled. This can be accomplished by simply pressing the microphone mute button on the terminal at which time the client will inform the user if the client is "listening" or "not listening".

How can I afford speech?

SyVox takes the cost out of integrating speech to your existing system by being off the shelf compatible and by leveraging your current system. SyVox is also built on 100% standards based open technologies that integrate with widely used development environments. This approach minimizes the learning curve for developers and the costs of deploying a SyVox solution.

Do I need a special terminal?

No. The SyVox Client has been optimized for Windos Mobile, and the Client was built to run on third party mobile computers. Issues affecting competitive offerings, including virtual memory limitations and storage requirements, are not a problem for SyVox.

Will the SyVox Client work with my accent?

Yes. The SyVox Client uses speech recognition models that were developed by sampling thousands of speakers (native and non-native). This sampling is incorporated into a model which allows the speech engine to understand a wide variety of pronunciations for a given word.

Can I speak long numbers or spell words using the SyVox Client?

Although the SyVox Client is capable of supporting long strings of spoken numbers and letters, there are often better methods for capturing this type of data. That is why the SyVox Client supports bar code scanning and keyboard data entry. Speech recognition is best used when there are a limited number of words or phrases tobe recognized.
